Trainer : Oğuz Haşlakoğlu
Duration : 3 sessions
Date of the Workshop : 1-8-15 June / 18:00 - 19:30
Duration
"Cross-reading" is an effort to read the fields of art, philosophy and architecture, each containing a unique universe of meaning, in a dialectical way that points to common creative intersections in their mutual relations.
The aim of the seminar is to demonstrate the creative role of ‘invisible’ thinking in relation to ‘visible’ form in the contexts of ‘making’ and ‘becoming’. In this sense, we will build conceptual paths thorough both classical art works and modern art as a whole. Thus, with the discovery of possible common points between art, philosophy and architecture, the seminar will move into a context in which the relations between art and design will be analyzed in their creative and innovative dimensions.
Some work to be discussed:
Van Eyck, Arnolfini Portrait
Bruegel, The Procession to Calvary
Velazguez, Las Meninas
Turner, Steamboat off a Harbour's Mouth
Manet, Lunchean on the Picnic
Cezanne, The Gardener Vailler
