On 19 November 2018, The Circle hosted KonuŞu talk titled “What is Water Scarcity and How to Overcome it?: The Case of Seawater Filtration in Middle East and Beyond.”

Talk was organized as a parallel event to “Watershed” exhibition that took place in The Circle between 01-31 November 2018.

Almost %90 of the water on earth was not suitable for drinking and daily use because of the extreme amount of salt until the invention of Sea Water Filtration Technology in 1970’s. This technology provides sustainable and affordable water solutions in the areas where water scarcity is a major problem.

According to International Sea Water Filtration Association, %45 of the 18,250 sea water filtration units in the world are in Middle East and Southern Asia.

In this talk Vildan Canik and Aysegül Kibaroglu will discuss the past and present policies of water filtration.
