Selçuk Avcı


Born in 1961, Selçuk Avcı graduated from Bath University in England. He has taught in numerous schools including the Architectural Association (AA), London University Bartlett School of Architecture, Bath University School of Architecture, Delft Technical University, and Ljubljana University School of Architecture as a Visiting Professor. More recently he has taught in Istanbul, at the Bilgi University, Faculty of Architecture and Istanbul Technical University, the Department of Architecture. After gaining a strong professional footing in eco-sensitive design at some of the world’s leading proponents of the practice of sustainable design in practices such as Feilden Clegg Bradley Design, Energy Conscious Design Architects and ARUP Associates, Selçuk Avcı founded AVCI ARCHITECTS in London in 1988 and has since designed projects in the UK, Turkey, Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Ghana, Congo, Niger, Benin, Czech Republic, Serbia, Montenegro and Saudi Arabia.

In 2007 he co-founded URBANISTA with Markus Lehto, a real estate strategy consultancy, which created ‘Envisioning’ as a process of strategic thinking in large-scale urban developments.
